Walls, built up, broken down....

Wherever you travel, there are walls.  In Beijing, the roads are named by the walls around the city..one wall, two walls, three, four..as they go further from the center of the city..
In western China, Don was so proud and fascinated to stand near a Portion of the wall from the Ming dynasty..

Walls built around castles in Europe, villages in Africa, new settlements in America , shrines in the Gobi,  walls running along the jagged mountains on China....

Walls built to protect, for boundaries , barriers.....

Walls....

From Genesis to Revelation, walls are being built, torn down, rebuilt and built fresh...

walls  made of stone, mud, logs, precious stones....emotions,

As people, we build walls around our hearts, emotions so that we are protected from those around us.  We don't let others in.....we can open the gates when we want want or not...we can even build a moat around the walls making it harder for others to enter...
We can allow the walls to crumble, or break them down ourselves.

When Ezra went to Jerusalem , he wanted to rebuild theTemple, the central part of the city...the heart...rebuilding that relationship with
God as a number one priority...when Nehemiah came, he desired to rebuild the wall...that protection of the heart...of the people....

We all need that heart and protection of the heart in our relationships with others, but mostly with
God....the Restorer, the Builder,
he longs for us to be that fortified city.....in His protection,  in His care....helping others to rebuild....to restore.....to encourage through the rebuilding.....those broken walls...

    The Lord’s word is flawless;
    he shields all who take refuge in him.
