Moving on a camel.....

After a week of sorting 43+years of office stuff, a year of working through personal stuff and still having a house full of living stuff, I cannot imagine moving on a camel.. Or just a donkey, ....or caravanning across the desert for forty years......

Talking about getting down to the necessities .....granted the Israelites didn't have to save so many years of tax records, or carry along all their family pictures, but they had some treasures, and some extra treasures , enough to give to the building of the tabernacle....

Some must have had their tools of their trade ....no extra clothes as theirs did not wear out for the time they were there...no selection of style magazines to create a demand or new clothing, .... No new cookbooks for their quail and manna.....no new books coming out each month...no new tech stuff to learn again and again....

Just the sunrise, daily cooking, care of children ....cleaning, coping with desert dust....washing of clothes by hand....feeding of and tending to the animals....
 maybe packing and walking....sunsets...

Did they have wood collection for fires, or dung?  Did the children relish in finding bugs , animals along the way for interest and teasing? There must have time for handing down the stories, teachings.....

Exodus 16:35
The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Canaan.

Leviticus 7:38
which the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai in the Desert of Sinai on the day he commanded the Israelites to bring their offerings to the Lord.

Nehemiah 9:19
“Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.

Psalm 78:20
True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread? Can he supply meat for his people?”

Isaiah 58:11
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

2 Corinthians 9:12
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

God provisions...... His providing food, water, shelter, basic needs....different through the ages, but still sufficient for all .....
