seasons...

Seasons

This morning,  as I was walking later than usual..it had been 20 degrees earlier..too cold...

But, I noticed that spring, however cold it still is, is on its way..the bushes and trees' little end buds are increasing in size and some are turning green.  There are more birds singing outside. The doves are cooing on the roof tops. Geese are flying by in pairs. And the ducks are swimming around in pairs....spring must be coming....

Truthfully , I remember very little about last spring.  I remember  we had it. I know we celebrated Easter by the pictures I have on my computer, I have some pussy willows that Mary picked as they came across the state. Visiting grandchildren, nurses....But the renewing of spring is not there in my mind.  We were working through each day.....taking them one at a time...family and friends helped us move and visited..there was some laughter there somewhere as well as many tears...is was a waiting time for us all..taking advantage of the precious time we had...we didn't want to let go, or really see the season change as that was all we had left.

But. This year, there are still the tears, the rememberances, the laughter, the spring- newness of the flowers, nature after a long winter of change. there are songs in the day, not just songs in the night/darkness. There is growth , there is clinging to memories, clinging to God's word,...His hand..His guidance..., His joy...His sunrises....knowing that His saving  our tears and still wiping them away..

(I wonder if the river that runs from HIs throne are the tears he saves....what a picture,,tears that give life. Or are they used to water gardens with an abundance of everything?)

Acts 14:17
Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

Psalm 9:9
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Ecclesiastes 3
New International Version (NIV)
A Time for Everything

3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2     a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3     a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4     a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5     a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6     a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7     a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8     a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
