I found a new street this last week. A back street to the motel where Matt and family are staying...a short cut to the mall near them..it is a fast way to get to the mall .....the only problem is that is a place where people dump their unwanted garbage...rather than dealing with it and taking it to the dump,,,they have dumped it on someone's property and it has created an eyesore and invitation to dump more and more there.....
I have unwanted garbage in my life as well.....things that are hidden away until I discover them or God points them out in my life...things i didn't deal with properly,,unwanted sin,,,places that I need to change .....I have stuffed them in my heart, trying to look good but are discovered while taking a. Short cut to something else....garbage dumped...
I haven't taken them to the right garbage dump to get rid of them, covered them up, hidden them away....they may seen by others or not....need to be confessed, picked up and thrown away.....not to be seen again....fears, pride , worries, idolatry, self righteousness , ...the list goes on....
But nothing is really hidden,,, we just want it so,,an illusion of good....until it can't stay that way anymore.....emotionally we need to get rid of it or we implode, destroyed by the pile....
God so wants to helps us clean up...He wants our sin dealt with, our hidden areas cleaned up....health, emotions, life are so much better when we take care of our garbage and take it to Him....
Hebrews 10:22
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Psalm 24

Who may stand in his holy place?

who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.[a]
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord
and vindication from God their Savior.
Psalm 51:2

1 John 1:9 if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Help me to get rid of the garbage in my life. Openness, confession....Praise
Psalm 103
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
