Refresh....

The weather for this Memorial weekend is typical..  You never know when it might a be hot or cold for this time of the year.  The news said In VT, they reopened some ski areas as they had three feet of new snow, other areas-floods, heat, storms.....May....sizzling heat, frozen flowers, the whole gamut of temperatures...

but, the air is Refreshing after the rain...the smells of pine, juniper , sage....bracing, the sun bright, clear...

There are times we all need refreshing, restoration,  reviving, rebuilding, replenished......

Times after wearying days and nights, weeping months, long journeys, harsh words, new trials, new lessons, disappointments,  solitude , crowds,....so much that our souls refreshment...

A soaking bath, a smile, a word, a prayer, a hug, quiet, a flower, a welcome, a song, a home, a well done,time,  a glass of water/tea/coffee/latte, a sunrise, a sunset, ....these all refresh in various ways to various people ....

There have been times when I clung to the verses about refreshment.  I was weary, defeated, tired, dried up in my soul.....but God was always there , reviving, encouraging in some way...maybe a word, a friend, rainbows, a call......listening and giving that strengthening peace in turbulence , unknowns, weariness .......

Psalm 19:7
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Psalm 23:3
he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Psalm 68:9
You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.

Proverbs 11:25
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
