At the wedding this week, there was a true wedding singer, with guitar, amplifiers, and accompanied by the sounds of beautiful ocean waves in the background, waving palms and even wild chickens which roam around at will in Hawaii..
He sang delightful soothing music, old tunes with contemporary, Hawaiian with pop, love songs and fun songs....all good for the soul....the ocean sang along with its rhythmic beating against the volcanic and coral rocks on the beach...
I just thought it was fun to find that in the book of psalms, there are psalms that were wedding songs...to the tune of "lilies". What was that like? We sometimes associate wedding with lilies, calla, which was used at this wedding with an abundance of orchids....or the beauty of Casablanca white lilies or the deep pink fragrant stargazer lilies....or even the popular colorful alstroemerias ....
Lilies, songs, go with weddings, celebrations, rejoicing, both in the Bible and in the here and now...even with the building of the temple...as well as comparisons of how beautiful they are...
