Times of celebration and times of mourning are great reflection events. For our family, We have had lots of times of mourning these last four years. So it has been a pleasure to be apart of a great celebration, a wedding. But not just any wedding but a wedding of dear, longtime, wonderful friends....and not just that but a "destination" wedding, Hawaii.
Flowers, sightseeing, laughter, amazing sunsets, getting lost and talking to the gps lady, friendship, craft shows, shopping for just the right shirt (4 shops later), church, picture taking, snorkeling, walks on the beach, fresh pineapple, papaya, fresh fish.... Remembering.....
God is such a wonderful provider.....a time for laughter during a time of tears.....
Oh, the tears are still there, not far below the surface. A gift, a song, a word, a smell, a thought, or whatever can quickly bring the tears of mourning...but in the same can bring laughter....a time for everything....
Wedding vows, holding of hands, smiles of love hit the hearts of the couple, but also the attendees...remembering their vows and celebrations. Grandchildren all around, dancing in the sunset, shows of vows in the past, from couples, family in attendance...how the marriages gone on and on...commitments made in times past...more poignant for the parents of the couple and family who have watched the couple grow and mature over the years, waiting for just the right one to come into the lives of their dear children...tears and laughter together ....a time for everything....
At funerals, we sometimes reflect on our shortness of days...
At weddings , we reflect on the blessings of days and times watching our children and their children growing up....
A time for everything....
Thank YOU for the blessings of days....celebrations, times for everything....just thank YOU for life.....in all times.....
Ecclesiastes 3:3-8
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time(A) for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,(B)
3 a time to kill(C) and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent(D) and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
