Soup weather...38 degrees....
I have fresh organic vegetables and fruits delivered once a week. They come with a few recipes. I never know what will be in the basket...what ever is fresh here as well in the valley, Washington and California ...this week is contained leeks, zucchinis, apples, raspberries, lettuce, broccoli, grapefruit, mushrooms, as well as recipes for zucchini fettuccini, apple crisp, apple and broccoli Salad, and some other tips.....
And each week if I don't get through all of the veggies, I put whatever is left into the crockpot for vegetable stock or soup...
What an abundance.....
Where I grew up, we had an abundance of fruits and veggies, we either had them fresh or canned them, or froze them for winter use. Then later, we had gardens, or went " gathering from afar", as my husband would say. It feels odd now not to have some kind of garden...am letting someone else enjoy the fun while I get the bounty....but no more garden weed pulling!!
God has provided so much... A bounty, a variety of foods all over the world...for different climates, environments, different diets for different people.....from the high Andes to the low deserts...meats of some kind, fruits in an array of colors,,shapes and sizes...starches from various plants, vegetables in abundance....breads in different shapes, grains....so much ......when we take care of the land.....
Genesis 2:15 the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Isaiah 58:11
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Isaiah 61:11
For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.
Jeremiah 29:28
He has sent this message to us in Babylon: It will be a long time. Therefore build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.’”
John 15:1
[ The Vine and the Branches ] “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
Thank you for Your abundance , your provision, and your gardening In my life...
