Missionary weekend....serendipity times.....

Missionary weekend..serendipity times.....

I was gifted with an opportunity to visit one of the churches we attended for  9 short years, while my husband was attending grad school, our children experienced a different christian school and we were involved In Taking care of my mother in law....it was a busy and tumultuous 9 years.....but during that time we had a great church family and met lifelong friends, were sent out on short term missions, met life mates, and grew through the fellowship, teaching, encouragement and  life lessons .....

I enjoy going back, even just for the welcoming hug at the front door....a smile of kindness and joy....

This particular weekend was emphasizing global missions....which we had been apart of so many years ago....there were booths filling to foyer with information of missionaries in the  various world fields, high and college students ready to depart for spring break opportunities...familiar faces of past friends and acquaintances.....the joy of serving permeated the atmosphere in whatever the calling....

The service was several baptisms of all ages, speakers reporting on missions opportunities and trips, worship music, hand shaking, welcoming....and the again to the foyer for visiting, hugs, information. .....I was blessed .....so much....it was truly a gift for my soul, heart and mind......

Thank YOU for the reminders of heart mentoring through time, past and present friendships, missions that continue on with new and old faces, love and enthusiasm that sends.....

Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
