Your child comes running into the house,...,,"where are you"..they call out...excited to tell you of their adventures or school projects or their hurts......or fun...so many things....
We are created for fellowship....with one another, with God....
He asked that "where are you" question as well. ....in the garden after Adam and Eve sinned....they had hidden and He knew it, but I think he wanted them to acknowledge their sin, their hiding. ....they hadn't hidden before, they walked, conversed, fellowshipped with Him freely......
Jane, a friend, gave a lesson on this subject several years ago...I don't remember all she said, but we each made a magnet, which i still have.....that simply says..."where are you"...
It is a reminder to me that God knows where I am,,, but wants to be involved, be a part of my life ....and He is always there..... But where am I? Am I hiding because if sin, too busy , afraid.......
Thank you for the reminder.......the "where are you?..... In life....You are always there.....waiting......caring....
Genesis 3:8-10
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
Rev 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
