Big and little problems....

Big and little problems...

If you take a jar, full of rice and walnuts, dump it out, add only the rice back in, then the walnuts...most likely the walnuts will not fit back in...but if you put the walnuts in first and then the rice, it will all fit back in...

If we take all of life's minor inconveniences and only think about them, we have not room to really consider the main issues..but if we are able to take care of the major things, the minor ones will usually take care of themselves..

Or if we as  Christians major on the minor doctrinal differences, we loose sight the the major similarities...

Little versus big....urgent versus important ....David versus Goliath .....or how we all fit together when our priorities are right....

As a wife, there were times, I let little irritations dominate my life, instead of looking at the whole of marriage...who really cares in eternity how or if I out my toothpaste on my toothbrush a certain way...or does the toilet paper roll off the top or bottom....or whether all the lights are on or off...or if the house was cluttered when company arrived....

The more important was that I even brushed my teeth, that we even had Indoor plumbing, that we even had electricity, that we welcomed whomever came into our home with grace and hospitality, local or international...

Thank YOU, that You Have lessons for us in the big and little things of life...help me to discern what is important and what are side issues...help me not to sweat the small stuff of life....but look to You for help in all...and have the right perspective ....YOU are the most important .....

1 Samuel 17

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
