Rebirth....
There it stood, my little tree...with tiny green leaves emerging. ....I had put it away last fall, not knowing what would happen, if it would die over the winter months (it is still winter here as I look out on another layer of snow this am)... But there it was...living, after a winters rest.....
A reminder that there is life after death....of dreams, people, changes, ....
I look At the world around me....chaos in the government; wars and rumors of wars around the world; families in major changes with cancer, accidents, age issues, illnesses, deaths, job loss; etc, etc etc...
Even this little tree, grown from acorns picked up at the 911 site in New York City a year and a half ago, had had growth problems....but it's parents were planted as a symbol of rebirth after a horrendous blow to a nation....
There is renewal, it may not look like we want it to, but there is hope for spring, sunshine, a new outlook, healing...in some form or another, unexpected blessings we sometimes have to search for, answers after darkness, light at the end of the tunnel, joy in the morning or mourning, A helpful hand, a flower, a prayer of a friend, little surprises strewn across our rocky paths, encouraging words, whispers of our Savior....
Thank YOU for reminders of your presence.....
Psalm 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Isaiah 26:19
But your dead will live, Lord; their bodies will rise— let those who dwell in the dust wake up and shout for joy— your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.
John 12:24
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Titus 3:4-6
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
