Crushed by crowds.....
There has been much in the news of late of various crowds....and their reactions to events...
First, it was the 50 year anniversary of the Beatles coming to America to play on the Ed Sullivan show...we watched that show faithfully every week when I was a child... We didn't get much else,,actually, and I remember watching the sensation of the Beatles, bowl cut hair, singing their hearts out...mobbed all around everywhere they went....fainting females, smiles, for this style of singing....at least they were dressed....and they could carry a tune and you could understand their words...
Further, Crowds of people rioting In the streets of various nations for a multitude of reasons, rights, ideals, freedoms...destruction of humans and property....so sad to see....
Crowds at the Olympics, cheering the participants to victory, medals, coming together as a world loving sports and competition.....exciting to see ....people from all over the world in a common event...
Then the news, last night, carried the story of one of the latest teen crazes concert...so opposite of the Beatles, but causing destruction of her own and her talent blown away by the portrayal of indecency...and crowds there also, with accolades....
I looked up "crowds" In the Bible and found similar descriptions of crowds in ancient times....doing the same things we are today...funny how we really don't change through the ages...what goes around comes around....
There were riotous crowds, good and bad, honoring crowds, celebrating crowds just as there are today....crowds who followed Jesus wherever he went....or the apostles both good and destructive....different agendas...
Crowds of witnesses for the celebrations of sinners repenting....that is the best....crowds in heaven of the redeemed....crowds at the ultimate wedding feast....those are the crowds we want to participate in....crowded around the throne of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords....the Lamb...
thank YOU, for earthly reminders of heavenly ideas....
Exodus 23:2
“Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,
Ezekiel 23:42
“The noise of a carefree crowd was around her; drunkards were brought from the desert along with men from the rabble, and they put bracelets on the wrists of the woman and her sister and beautiful crowns on their heads.
Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Matthew 13:2a
Such large crowds gathered around him.....
Luke 9:11
but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

[ Paul the Roman Citizen ] The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He’s not fit to live!”
