Two planes...

Two planes...

Two planes sat side by side in the hanger...

Both were busy, in and out, day after day with their respective owners...both were taken care of meticulously, their crews making sure that they were in top shape at all time, ready at a moment's notice for use...

One fly for a life of pleasure...partying, travels to far away exotic places, high  brow business deals, equipped with all the latest luxuries...inane laughter, plans for the future, carefree living was the norm....

The other was far less impressive to the outward view...ferrying  the sick and wounded, supplies for faraway exotic mountaintop villages, lumber or tents for shelters, books for schools, supplies for disaster relief, doctors and other medical help, boxes for needy children...

One plane dedicated to worldly pleasures and the other for service in the world...

I wonder if these planes could talk, what would their conversation be...
Would they share adventures, purposes...would one envy the other...would they question their lives, their paths...would they compare themselves...would one boast of its life....would one or the other lose its zest for life....would one be discarded sooner than the other...

And what of the owners? What would  their conversations hold?
I can only imagine....

14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
Luke 8:14

Your name, Lord, endures forever, your renown,  Lord , through all generations. For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants. The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
Psalm 135:13-18

I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.” But that also proved to be meaningless.....
Ecclesiastes 2....

Thank YOU for the picture....
