Rivers...
We have passed many rivers during this trip...muddy, silty ones, near bank capacity from the abundance of rain. Last night our stop brought us to our lodge with rooms facing the river. It is running deep and fast, no meandering stream this...nor dipping of toes in its swiftly flowing currents...
It is coming from lofty mountains flowing toward bigger and bigger bodies of water making its way finally to the sea to start the process over again...evaporation, forming of storms and clouds, moving toward the land masses and pouring the rain and snow on the majestic mountains...cycles of water...created by God for our use and enjoyment as well as care the earth He so intricately formed...that water was there in the beginning, He made it...and we use it over and over for generation upon generation...my ancestors used that water...it boggles the mind...just one of the very important parts of creation...it just keeps coming....thank YOU...for your life giving water...rivers....
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning —the second day. .......And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:1-2,6-10
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
