Red sky....

Red sky ......

The other night, I went outside to fell the nice cool air and was surprised to find an enormous cloud moving toward the town from the west...it hadn't been there just awhile ago..it reminded me of the cloud of darkness in the movie, "the Ten Commandments".

But, this cloud was red at the edges..a smoke cloud...not a storm cloud...it grew and grew and covered the town...I went in to check the news to see what was happening..could find nothing until the next morning....it was a smoke cloud built up from a fire some miles away...and had settled over our area...smoky, hazy day until it dissipated slowly throughout the day with a gentle breeze...we are still getting beautiful red sunrises and sunsets from the smoke in the sky...

Red....it is such a powerful color...vivid, brilliant, red...
In China, a red lantern signifies a restaurant...
In Russian, they have the Red square...
We have the "red light districts" drawing people into its sinful activities...
When you accidentally put a red garment into the wash with lighter colors, they turn pink, rather than the white turning the reds, white...
We have red sunrises and sunsets when there is smoke particulates in the air...
Apparently red is a favorite color for men...
People wear red when they want to send the message of authority ....
In the Old Testament, they covered the tabernacle with dyed red ram skins,  signifying the blood that was shed....
Our sins are like scarlet, staining our lives, which can be forgiven, becoming the whiteness of purity....when we put our trust in Christ who shed his blood for our salvation...

Thank YOU for red in our lives....it does remind me of the blood that was so freely shed for my salvation....to be changed into the white robes of righteousness ....not stained or blemished....to stand before You in heaven...covered...

Exodus 35:7 ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood;
