Yesterday, I had the privilege again of working with flowers....the room was filled with flowers of all types, colors and sizes, donated by wonderful merchants around the area...
First, the flowers must be cleaned and sorted. Some are thrown away for composting, others are sorted into buckets and buckets for re use...some, which won't make another week, are put aside for the workers to take home and enjoy before withering away...
The room is like walking into one of Monet's garden paintings.....
Each arrangement goes to a hospice patient around the area...to bring a little color to their lives, a fragrance beyond the hospital or care facility....to encourage the families that someone cares outside the four walls of those final rooms....maybe a smile in times of loss...
Last year it was me...I arrived at my father's final earthly room to a beautiful bouquet sitting on the table, orange roses....it was like God saying, " i am here with you, this is just another reminder."..the fragrance was wonderful...and He even did it with my favorite colors....
I just know that God must love color....He made so much of it, rainbows, stones, flowers, dyes.....beauty....is everywhere for us to enjoy...He used flowers in the tabernacle, the carvings....
He compared our lives to the the short life of a flower ....as opposed to the lasting Word which does not fade away....
Plus, He compared our worry to flowers which are clothed in beauty ......and they were taken care of...just like He takes care of us....
He gives us great painters to capture the beauty on canvas...photographers to capture the colors in film and digital .....
He gives His words to remind us of the beauty, care...Himself...
He is our bouquet and we are his....thank YOU...
