There is a new book out from old notes written in the 1930's and 1940's, "50 Children: One Ordinary American Couple's Extraordinary Rescue Mission into the Heart of Nazi Germany", by Steven Pressman.
It records the rise of nazism in Europe and systematic annihilation of the Jewish people by one rule after another, one cruel act after another...and how some people valiantly worked to save them, one person at a time....or in this case 50 at a time....
A repeat of the "the Hiding place" and "Shindler's List"......and other books lesser known of that era...
This topic feels like a repeat of history, over and over of a people rejected, persecuted, killed, enslaved, driven from their homes, their promised land...the battle of good and evil, scapegoats of others, the blame game and on and on...in Biblical proportions and recordings...
The Jews were/ are a chosen people, and Satan in all of his evil has tried to get rid of them through various edicts, enslavement, movements over and over throughout history and God continues to save them.
And again in the present news, it is continuing to happen....war again in Isreal, with the purpose of getting rid of anyone who isn't a perfect Isalmic..
In years past it was a perfect Egyptian, a perfect German, a perfect ?, ....over and over again...the brutality of it is mind boggling.....wars because of lust for another's success, land, or just because...hatred...lies, deception...
Thank YOU for the heroics of people, who down through the ages, have stood for good in the wake of evil....You stand against evil and have the ultimate victory....
Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
Esther 3:5-6 When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged. 6 Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.
Esther 4:12-16 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
James 4:1-2a What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight.
