The moon.....

The moon...

These few mornings the moon set and the sunrise have given a wonderous  show in the early morning....the full moon set to the west over the Cascades as the sun  was beginning to makes its way up in  east with vivid reds,, scattered clouds, causing both the mountains in the west and evergreen trees in the east to silhouette against a  colorful sky....the early golden hour...

There is nothing that man can do in nature that can replicate the beauty of nature...we have witnessed the explosion of the bomb in the deserts, various manmade things as the moon walks, etc, the wall of China, the lights of earth as seen from space, but they do not hold a candle to lights that God created for us in the heavens.....not to be worshipped but to hold as part of the creation we do enjoy....

We hold them as passage of seasons, times, enjoy their beauty at different times of the year, somewhat understand the play between emotions, and full moons...the tides...but they are still a small part of the whole of creation and we will not understand them in our finite minds...

I can not even fathom the brilliance that the future holds in heaven....we can read about it...ponder it....but understand, no....not until we experience it...no need for light except God himself,  no need for sunglasses, our bodies will be perfect...unless they  are supplied there...no darkness, nor sunrises or sunsets....just light....no sorrow...regrets...tears..pain...but love everlasting.....light everlasting....

Thank YOU for the moon, the sun, the stars...reminders of Your eternal light....a small picture of the light of Yourself, the beauty...the majesty...help us to shine as beacons in a dark world....

Isaiah 60:19
The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

Isaiah 60:20
Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.

Psalm 8:2-4
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

Genesis 1:14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night,  and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light. to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning-the fourth day.

Psalm 136:9
the moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.

Jeremiah 31:35
This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord Almighty is his name:

Joel 2:31
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

Revelation 21:23
The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Matthew 16:1-3
The Demand for a Sign
16 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
