Broken and satisfied.......

Broken but satisfied.....

In three of the gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, the feeding of the crowds is recorded...

Matthew 14:20
They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Matthew 15:37
They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

What struck me, in the verses, that the people were satisfied ......And that the disciples picked up the broken pieces...

There is satisfaction in brokenness.....a stretch, I know....but true.   Our salvation was satisfied by the brokenness of Christ on the cross...and there was the abundance of eternal life....in the "left overs"....there is still more....and more and more...he never stops giving....

Jesus came to satisfy, heal, carry out the care of the broken hearted people ....

I don't know about you, but I don't like to be broken, I want everything perfect, taken care, in one piece...but there are many times in life that just isn't so....I am broken,  but through Jesus, I am satisfied....even when it is hard....
