Sight....

Eyesight....

I can remember going to the eye doctor when I was I the fifth grade. I had gotten closer and closer to the blackboard, and the tv, as everything was fuzzy...

New glasses, voila, sight...what a wonderful world again...crisp and distinct....

After high school graduation, contact lenses,  no glasses,   That was such a treat....didn't look so bookish, even though I was...then back to glasses after allergy to solutions...and so much sand in Nevada.....no lasak like my kids ....eyes too inconsistent...later laser surgery for pucker, and on and on, tear ducts, eye pressure...cornea....

Eyesight , so fragile....so important....we use it for everything....

There is an advertisement, now that says we can see a single candle light at 10 miles...they must be of the Bonneville  salt flats to do that... When you think of that and put it with the passage about a light hidden or not hidden under a bushel...that light shines greatly in a dark world...but we need to see.....both with our hearts and eyes....

Our eyes are so intricate....so many pieces, and they work together with such precision ...colors, shapes, light and dark. And all between....until we don't have it, we sometimes don't appreciate it....an artist's eye, an engineer's eye, a repairman's eye, an educator's eye, a policeman's eye....All seeing different things...but seeing.....using those God created and given eyes....

And when I think about God seeing all.....something that far more than I can imagine in my finite mind...

I appreciate that Jesus was concerned and healed many of blindness of their eyes....
He had compassion and power to do that.... It was a felt need...when they, we, And I really the blindness cured of my heart...soul...form the darkness of sin....with the light and sight of the Word...

Thank YOU that you do indeed heal the blind both in sight and heart ....with the illumination of Your word...help me to seek that light, to freely see YOu in me, around me, in all...that You do...say...

31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.

33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”
