Current controversies......

Since the beginnings on recorded times, there have been controversies ....right and wrong, murder, my way or the hi way, leadership styles, personality differences, love triangles, who to follow, how to follow, whose rules, to drink or not to drink, land disputes, family disputes, what to eat or not, how to worship, rich or poor, and on and on with judgements flying everywhere......part of every story is a good conflict with a resolution....

Look through the Bible and they are all there...now look at the current newspaper or news station ....the names have changed, but still similar conflicts...

Some of us relish the conflict and live In that moment, others of us long for the solution for peace in the matter....it has been that way down through the ages....

A long time ago, I heard the adage, "desiring rights promotes revolution, desiring responsibility promotes revival"..... It still holds true......and it still is a conflict ...generation after generation, it goes on...it seems more blatant now as we have such instant access to everything...but the issues are pretty much the same...over and over...

"There is Nothing new under the sun," the purveyor of proverbs said a long time ago...

I, alone, stand before The Lord and answer to my own life, no one else's, how did I live, what did I believe, who did I put my trust in, did I follow the path that was set out for me...what was my legacy ....did I exhibit the fruit of the spirit ....did I promote peace, love, ...truth....that is an everyday event, examining ....creating a clean heart, thoughts, spirit....whom did I love .....care for, ....dwelling on the right thoughts ...not causing anyone to stumble by my example...not trying inflict my way on others...but promoting peace..love..care for others and pointing the way to Jesus...

thank YOu that we can come to You for all the right things, attitudes,...thoughts...I don't want to dwell in the wrong thinking .....mulling over, chewing the current controversies when You want me to keep my thoughts, on You...I even talk back to the news commentators, when I should be talking over them withYOU, praying for them and the situations...help me to stand up to the wrong and stand for YOu.....when it is appropriate. ...

James 4:1What causes fights and quarrels(A) among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle  within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.4 You adulterous  people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us ?  6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:

“God opposes the proud
    but shows favor to the humble.”
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil,  and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
