When the rubber hits the road…
I love to go to seminars, retreats, learning new things, deeper truths, fresh fellowships….but coming home can be tough…because there awaits reality…we are “high” from the teachings, the fun, the events…and the dirty laundry awaits, real life events happen and we feel sometimes sucked back into life without all the frills, joy and laughter…
But, home is where we put the principles we learned to the test…what was God trying to teach us during those few hours of the seminar or retreat? What did He prepare just for us? What words of wisdom did He have for us to face the road ahead when we arrived home?
It may be a single verse we can cling to, it may be a new friendship, or a song that fills our heart…it may be the peace that He gives when we trust him to help us seek His face in trials that will come to test our convictions…and trials will come…
He doesn’t leave us or forsake us after a retreat, seminar…He uses those truths to teach and give us encouragement and perseverance…after all He knew what was going to be presented….He knew what our hearts needed, He knows the road ahead and has prepared a place for us….it may seem bumpy and not what we wanted, but He is there for us and with us…
Thank YOU…
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Rom.15.5-6,Rom.15.13
You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies;you anoint my head with oil;my cup overflows.
Ps.23.5
The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,a stronghold in times of trouble.
And those who know your name put their trust in you,for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Ps.9.9-10
