Salt…

 Salt…

We used to drive by playa lakebeds, miles of usually dry ground covered with salts…devoid of vegetation east of Reno, Nevada…..and also the salt flats west of Salt Lake City, near Wendover, Nevada…miles of white crusted ground…( so boring a drive, that they post signs about drowsiness, but where a multitude of car commercials are made). Closer to Salt Lake City, you pass by the salt “mines” where they “harvest /gather” salt for our table use…

We need salt , but not too much…it is even measurable in our blood tests, making sure it is in the right amount for our bodies…too much or too little effects our health and wellbeing…

Speech can be too “salty” or just right as well…and Paul speaks of the salt in our speech in the book of Colossians…knowing the right words, the right answers for each person we encounter…

Thank YOU….

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Col.4.2,Col.4.5-6

“The ways we communicate with others, the choices we make in responding to opinions that differ from ours, and the actions of helping others, caring for each other, and sharing His love and glory are opportunities to be the salt of the earth.”
