Tools for healing and growth…
Earlier this year, when the doctors finally diagnosed a hip problem and not a back problem, my neighbor asked if I had a “hip kit” yet…I drew a total blank, not knowing what a “hip kit” was…
Well, I “researched” it on Amazon, finding numerous selections…and promptly ordered one..wishing I had known about them sooner as it would have helped pre-surgery a lot…
Yesterday, I was walking with my new friend, the cane, and realized and was so thankful for all of the helpers I have had in this journey this past year…doctors, nurses, CNAs, drivers, the behind-the-scenes people, the hip kit, walkers, friends, a cane, rehab residence, encouragers, physical therapists, family, prayers in multitudes, YouTube, a plastic bag( best hack- put on chair or car seat, makes turning around much easier), neighbors, cards, notes, etc….
When you think about our Christian life journey, God has surrounded us with helpers of various kinds at various times…we may have family or a church family who encourage, admonish, build up,…we have the living Word from which learn, we have the Holy Spirit to teach us truth, convict….we have Jesus as our friend and mediator…God as our Father… all always there…we move from the milk to the meat , learning deeper truths ….letting go of the “Walker” moving to the cane and finally, strong enough, move to walking without so much help. We mature in the faith…with all of the helpers God supplies…
I look back on my life and see people who have entered my path, and how God put them there…or various life experiences God has used to comfort, teach, ….nothing is wasted in his economy…
And God means it for our good…
Thank YOU….
In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Heb.5.12-14
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you.
In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.
You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you.
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
