Hidden?????
One time as a child, instead of putting my clothes away as directed, I stuffed them under the blanket that was folded at the end of my bed…and then when asked if I had put them away, I blithely said “yes” and went out to play…this probably went on for a week …of course the blanket got lumpier and lumpier until one day my mom confronted me about my lies and “hidden” clothes…lessons learned…put clothes away, lies are not acceptable, blankets really don’t hide anything and moms usually know when you are lying….
As I read about Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, that childhood scene replayed itself…God can see and He knows everything…he is omnipresent =present at all times…
But, as we cannot keep things hidden…He also hides what He wants hidden…I remember a long time ago, reading about Brother Andrew smuggling Bibles into forbidden places …how the Bibles were hidden in plain sight, and went through ….and that is still happening today…
Thank YOU…for knowing us through and through…nothing is hidden that you desire to be revealed…
“So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
Matt.10.26
O Lord, all my longing is before you;my sighing is not hidden from you.
Ps.38.9
I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.
Ps.40.10
O God, you know my folly;the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you.
Ps.69.5
For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from me, nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.
Jer.16.17
Daniel answered and said:“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons;he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,and the light dwells with him.
Dan.2.20-22
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Heb.4.12-13
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet.
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal?
Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”
When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it.
The young men rose and wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him.
After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.”
And she said, “Yes, for so much.”
But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last.
When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.
