Multiple priests/pastors…

 Multiple priests/pastors…

Reading this passage made me contemplate how many pastors I have known in my life…from childhood through now…

All have added different perspectives, different depths, different experiences…some were evangelists, shepherds, exhorters, expositors, teachers, researchers…. but all have led to Christ in some manner…
Some have passed away, some fell, some still lead …they were and are all creative pieces of my quilt of life… people whom God specifically placed in my path…

But, they were/are men who face death, have a specific time here on earth…and being human, they are not perfect…they cannot save…they needed a Savior just as anyone does…

23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

26 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. 28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

Hebrews 7:23-28

We have Jesus, who outlasts any earthly pastor, priest…

Who is holy, blameless, pure, perfect, exalted above the heavens…who gave himself as a sacrifice for sins…

And, while I thank God for the pastors he has brought into my life over the years, I praise him for Jesus…his saving power like none other…once for all who believe…

Thank YOU…

Exalted over all…
