Gift ideas…
When my husband and I were first married, we had little money…both of us were going to college, my husband working as well in the Nevada Bureau of Mines, part time…although our living expenses were low, expenses added up…we had to be creative when birthdays and Christmas came around…One year we made various candies for family and friends….another year, we made pinecones soaked in select chemicals which in turn caused the cones to burn a variety of colors(all of our families had wood stoves or fireplaces)….etc…
One of my grandmothers, crocheted potholders for everyone(I still cherish those) as well as made homemade wild blackberry jam for all the men(she worked year around to get ready for Christmas, there were lots of children and grandchildren)…
Now, we are facing the same creativeness…
Gifts given in the Word started in Genesis…from the first, God gave gifts…life…care…fellowship…
Abraham’s servant took gifts while looking for a wife for Isaac…people brought gifts to build the build the tabernacle in the desert…the wiseman brought gifts the child, Jesus…
The greatest gift is Jesus, given so that all who believe might have eternal life…
Jesus, who in turn, gifted believers with the Holy Spirit…who gives spiritual gifts…truth, counsel…
We have a God who loves giving gifts…eternally…it behooves us to give as well…ourselves, monetarily, time, gifts we make or buy, resources…Giving Tuesday arrives quickly, Christmas is coming, the end of the year is coming, birthdays, missions, worthy organizations of all kinds…lots of opportunities….
Thank YOU ….

Acts.2.38
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Rom.5.15-17
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
