My husband suffered from SAD, seasonal affective disorder. He was born and raised in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, where it rains a lot and the skies are gray....but, he didn't know he had SAD until we went back from the sunny skies of Nevada, to go to school and care for his mother for a period of time...when we would descend the Cascades into the valley, it was like a black cloud came and hovered over him...is was so sad to watch....
He did much better in the sunny environs of Nevada...or with lots of windows with sun shining in to "enlighten" his brain...
What made me think of this, was the gray skies we have had this last week. While I was walking on the sunny days, the brilliant fall colors all around were vibrant, filling the sky with color..then I walked on a cloudy day, same path, same trees, same fall colors, but everything was dull, lifeless feeling...
Hope and no hope....hope gives life, vibrancy, purpose, color, smiles....sunny days...
We, who are Christians have hope...Christ gives hope...
No Hope takes away the life, the color, and we just exist....no purpose...grayness...sonlessness..no Christ....

Peace and Hope
5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame....
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
