Early morning at a theme park....
We go an hour early into Disney with a special pass..so not so many people as the regular time to enter...
But the crowds are still there...
23,000 people are employed by Disney, Anaheim. Then you add the visitors, there are a LOT of people..everyone that we have met have been courteous, smiling and helpful...no grouches here....this is the "happiest place in the world"... So they say....from the costumed characters, the cleaners, salespeople , the musicians, the ride runners....and the families who are here to enjoy....
I cannot even imagine trying to manage this many people, all working together to make other people happy...
Just think of the trek across the desert from Egypt to the promised land..granted there were no beautiful gardens, tropical rides, smiling, welcoming people along the way. Or shops selling everything imaginable for souvenirs to take home, no tee shirts, scarves, toys to remember the desert trek by...just day after day of walking, gathering manna, preparing manna, finding water, setting up shelters, tending animals....and there was grumbling...as there is here..from crying children, tired of walking and waiting people, thirsty travelers, hungry teenagers....
But there was a Guide....a cloud by day and a pilar of fire by night, there was provision of basic needs, and I imagine there was joy of freedom from the slavery and the joy of anticipation of a promised land...there were leaders.....no maps as we have here with decisions to make .....
Crowds of people, ....in both places , basic needs, similar attitudes, dissimilar situations, ....but still the need for a Guide, a Saviour...faith...a destination to consider ...
Exodus12:37-38The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 38 Many other people went up with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds.
Exodus 13:21
By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
Thank You,, so much for being a part of the crowdssss.....so many, but thank You for so much more ...being a part of the chosen,...for faith...for Yourself...the Eternal.. The Guide through life's journey....
