Deja Vu .....

Déjà Vu.....

 Déjà vu, (/ˌdeɪʒɑː ˈvuː/) from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.

Staying in the same hotel brand name as I did when my husband was under going chemo/radiation treatments during the last few months of his life is a little unsettling...we were staying away from home to be near the cancer treatment center and became a part of the hotel family..others were there for similar treatments, business, homes burning to the ground and just vacationing. We ate breakfast together, encouraged one another, or just said a passing "hello".
One couple we met were looking at new homes. A lightning fire had hit the canyon above their home, quickly igniting the dry summer grass and brush, burning 20 homes. They had gotten out with the clothes on their backs and a car, losing  40 years of memories...

We had a family Christmas in that hotel, cooking wonderful meals, enjoying one another's company, exchanging presents, laughter, going for walks, family friends dropped by....not knowing how quickly our family time was flying by......

It sometimes felt like we were trying to beat death, like it wasn't going to happen....even though we knew it was coming.  I don't know if we were naive or just moving forward at a fast pace...everyday was Different it seemed...we just had to take each day for what it held...each hug, each tear, each event, each day was precious.....and we wanted to live it to its fullest....savor each time with grandpa, husband, father...we did the mundane, as well as the special....

Thank YOU for each new day that You give us....help me to appreciate them....as gifts.....

 Psalm 39:5
You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.

Psalm 89:16
They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.

Psalm 118:24
The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

Isaiah 25:9
In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Lamentations 3:22-24
New International Version (NIV)
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
    therefore I will wait for him.”
