I want to see…

 I want to see…

The first time I saw real begging along the road or in a city was in a town in Western China…we had just arrived and were being escorted into our hotel…there on the sidewalk was a very challenged young person sitting next to the entrance with his hands held high asking for money…I didn’t take a picture as I didn’t want to further humiliate him…but, my mind’s eye still can see his disfigured body waiting for a coin or some kind of help….

Three of the gospel writers wrote about the healing of the blind…

Each one recounts what Jesus asks, “what do you want me to do for you?”

And they answer, “I want to see”…

Jesus says, “your faith has healed you”…

Luke further writes, “Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God.

When all the people saw it, they also praised God.”

When I open  and look into the Word each time, that is my request as well, “I want to see..” what you are saying/teaching me…and Jesus answers…

He opens our hearts and minds to seek His Word, his lessons and how to apply them to our hearts and lIves…it may be a new lesson or insight or He may repeat it until we learn it…but He is always there…

Thank YOU…

Matthew 20:29-34

Mark 10:46-52

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.

They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”

He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him.

When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.

Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God.

When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Luke.18.35-40

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.Ps.119.18

He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever.

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets prisoners free,     the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.

The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord.
