National Red Nose Day....

National Red Nose Day....

May 21, 2015 has been declared National Red nose Day,
"Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh."

Every time I see the advertisement I smile and remember a "red nose Sunday" in honor of my husband who was frequently making jokes about red clown noses. One of the last Sundays he was able to attend church, they brought out red clown noses for everyone to wear in honor of him and his sense of humor...

This was shared in Facebook-
"I do believe ******** swooped down and whispered into the ear of the one who could make it happen, "wouldn't it be great if we picked a day that everyone on TV wears a clown nose. Make it be a fund raiser and send the money to feed kids near and far." Thursday has Don written all over it. I do miss that man." Deanna

He was concerned about fund raising for the right causes...and gave generously to many...his favorite was building churches...but he fed many as well along the way of life...from friends to a bus load of teenagers on a mission trip...God generously gave him a passion for giving...

Jesus exhibited those qualities for us to emulate..compassion for others, care..feeding the hungry...love...touch.....over and over again...freely giving of himself...down to the last hour of his life....

Thank YOU for funny reminders, the red noses, ....but thank You for Your compassion for the world ...you feed the hungry, help the poor, convict of sin, save...

Matthew 15:29-39 Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.” His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?” “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.” He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.
