Ask, seek and knock.....

In our last home together, I had these words painted on the wall In our bedroom, most of Matthew 7:7-8.  They were a surprise to my husband.   He really liked those verses among so many...he liked it in context of finding minerals available to mine and where to seek them....that was one of his passions in life...finding mineral riches to invest in the true riches of life...

at the end of his life, people associated with both the mineral riches and the heavenly riches were still coming through the door to shake his hand and say, "well done, thank you and goodbye".  And many came to the memorial services as well....and as many came, they heard the gospel as well, the true riches of life...

I don't know all the implications or the thoughts of all who came, I saw tears, laughter, .....do any of them ask, seek or knock...as we are implored to do?  Only heaven knows...

Thank YOU for simple words....humbling words...that You give...telling us to ask, seek and knock ...with promises of receiving, finding and opening...thank You that give so much....and are willing to help us...

Matthew 7:7-8, 28-29 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 

When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
