Colonoscopies ....
Just what everyone wants to have...
Since my family has colon cancer in the genes, I am "required" to undergo this procedure regularly...and the "joke" is that the preparation is worse than the actual procedure...that may be true, but the procedure is not necessarily fun either...I don't like "going" under...you know, loss of "control"... ( like we have any control!) ....It is just the principle of the matter...
But, the goal is a "clean" bill of health...so I go along with it...desiring truth at the outset...
Reading through the Proverbs again brings that same desire of cleansing as well...getting rid of the garbage, the foolishness, replacing it with wisdom, discernment, godliness, understanding, worth, truth...
I personally don't want to be described by others as the foolish one that is described over an over again in the chapters of the book of Proverbs...full of every vile thing...I want to keep wisdom in view, in my life... I want to be a pride of my children's lives...to keep learning, growing in grace and wisdom...words, a deep fountain...
So while cleansing the body is good...proper care...how much better is cleansing the mind, heart to truly be at peace with our Creator..seeking His fruit for our lives, following His example for living, be guided by His Word...
Thank YOU that you care for us inside and out...desiring that we seek your wisdom, follow your decrees...washing us white as snow...
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Proverbs 17
