Water....Israel 11...

Water...Israel 11...

While traveling in Israel, we had water, whether in bottles or drinking fountains...the point being, we could drink the water out of the tap...

Many of the countries I have visited in the past,we  were warned not to drink from the faucets...one missionary my husband and I talked to in Asia said, “oh, we are just used to getting sick about every 10 ten days or so.”  Yuck..doesn’t sound fun to me...

I admit, I am spoiled, I like fresh water, not bottled...fairly pure, not sickening water...my favorite being streams which come from snowy mountains, filtered through the ground and bubbling up clear......
There is such a refreshing taste of that water...

One of our first forays into the countryside was north to the “beginnings” of the Jordan River..there are these high cliffs, in the northern Golan Heights...a main tributary, the Banias river comes from springs near here...( I will add pictures later)...beautiful small water falls, greenery...

The Jordan grows, flowing into the Sea of Galilee, which flows again into the Dead Sea...

They also rely heavily on desalination as well...

This all to say...water was here, God divided it...he had rivers...there was a flood of water, He supplied it, knowing that we need it...our bodies are made up of a lot of water!...it mentioned In The second verse of the Bible and then All the way through...

In many places we don’t take care of it...we send groups, secular and missionaries to tap water sources for needy ones all over the world...

We need this water for life...but, further we need Jesus’ gift of living water...

Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 4:10-14

To quench the soul needs...

Thank YOU for fresh water...refreshing out lives...
