“Let there be flowers...”

“Let there be flowers”....

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. ” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning —the third day.
Genesis 1:11-13

In the past three months, I have been to the Caribbean, Montana, Northern California, Israel, Washington DC and home....each place taking photos of various sights...but, as much as I love the buildings, landscapes, views, people who are there, I still fall back into my default of photos of flowers when they are available...

I just awoke this am, thinking surely there is a verse that starts with...”let there be flowers” ...in Genesis...knowing full well that there isn’t...and I don’t want to add anything to the Scriptures either...

But, thinking at all the places where colors are used or talked about...stones, weavings, clothing, designs...in the Bible...the creation of flowers fits well...where they added for our pleasure? Our senses of sight and smell? Medicinal uses? Dyes? Not sure...but I thank God for His  creativity...his color...

Thank YOU...

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:9

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
