Sunrises again and again...Washington DC 4....
Each morning I workout on the top floor of the hotel where I am staying in Washington DC...the treadmills face the east...facing the legislative and judicial part of the nation’s capitol...
The sun, this time of year, from my morning perspective, comes up right behind the Capitol buildings, the Supreme Court buildings....
Beautiful and brilliant it rises majestically each day....it makes me think and hope that the leadership of this country would see the faithfulness of each new day, a gift given by the Creator of this universe....that each would seek His wisdom, guidance....would humble themselves before Him asking to guide this land.....advice on how to rule justly, wisely...
There is scripture engraved on marble walls, tombs, and grave stones all over the city...sayings to edify and encourage....to tell of people who have gone before having left their mark on the land...
Thank YOU that You are in control...
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
This tells, me, though, that it is not just the leaders who need wisdom and humble, but all of his people...”my people “...
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
Daniel 2:20-21
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Matthew 28:18
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
