Unfinished churches...
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Some of the places we encountered had unfinished churches...there were dreams of bodies of believers, unfinished physical buildings, foundations for structures...building materials for all....
We could see it in the eyes and hearts of the people-both adults and children, the Adobe-like bricks, the unfinished structures...the spires of rebar reaching to the sky....God was building his church in all and He would not be thwarted...we walked in joy of the birth of these places...noisy anticipation...
I was reminded of this over and over again...in the wall of a building we passed, built of bricks of all kinds, some uneven, some in perfect formation...standing proud as an example of how God uses a variety of materials and people to build His church...
We visited and passed great cathedrals as well...beautiful in form and structure...housing beautiful windows, statues, candles, carvings ...so opposite of the places we had come to really visit...we walked in silence...
Thank YOU that you put dreams into the hearts of men and women to build your church in the hearts of others...with or without a building...You are there...
Mark 16:15, 20 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
