Condemned....
I was reading the other day and came upon the word "condemned".. Oh, it has been there all along, but just struck me..it was about the woman caught in adultery and her accusers...She was brought out by the teachers of the law and the Pharisees with the accusation of adultery...just a few chapters before this in John, the Bible states that Jesus came into not to condemn but to save ....then this scene comes out...and Jesus says "neither do I condemn you, ....leave your life of sin.....I am the light of the world....whoever follows me will never walk in darkness (condemnation)..."
It was just great how they all fit together so well...as expected in God's message to the world...through Christ, there is salvation....he desires us not to perish, not to be condemned, but saved through our belief in Him...He came for that ....He wants us to accept that gift and not turn our backs on Him...
Even those teachers of the law and Pharisees knew they had sinned as they, one by one, walked away...not casting the stones...I wonder did any of them become believers...they knew ....did they seek the light at some time?...
Thank YOU, for coming to save, to seek the lost, to unchain the captives of sin.... To forgive...You love us so much...
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 8:9-12 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
“No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Psalm 109:31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.
Psalm 34:22 The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
