Sealed…

 Sealed….

In a time long ago, when we wrote letters and sent them in the mail, one of the fads of the time was to have a seal of our choosing that we sealed our letters. We would burn the wax or plastic, let it puddle on the back of the envelope, then push our stamp into the warm, soft substance sealing it with our seal…it felt so fancy…the post office probably didn’t like them because of the thick blob making an uneven surface to sort…

Scriptures speak of seals as well…Daniel in the lions den was sealed, Jesus sealed in the tomb, Satan sealed in the bottomless pit, kings with their seals on important letters or proclamations, various seals to be opened in Revelations…

But, to me, the most important seal is talked about in Ephesians…the sealing of believers with the Holy Spirit…those other seals of wax or something can be broken open to see the contents…but the seal of the Holy Spirit is unbreakable…eternal..a guarantee of our inheritance into God’s kingdom, a counselor, a comforter, a teacher of truth, and so much more…

 Thank YOU…

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John.14.26

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Eph.1.13-14

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Eph.4.30

And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.
Dan.6.17

So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.
Matt.27.66

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
 Rev.20.1-3

There’s a sweet sweet Spirit in this place….

Spirit of the living God…
