Ephesians 2 is chapter of contrasts…before God and after God in our personal lives…
Before…..
*dead in trespasses and sin
*following the course of this world
*following the prince of the power of the air
*living in the passions of the flesh
*carrying out the desires of the body and mind
*children of wrath
*Gentiles in the flesh
*separated from Christ
*alienated
*strangers to the covenant of promise
*having no hope
*without God in the world
*far off
But…with God…in Christ…
Who was rich in mercy
Loved us
Cornerstone,in whom the whole structure being joined together grows into a holy temple in the Lord…
Now…
Alive together with Christ
Saved by grace
Raised up with him
Seated in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Shown kindness, immeasurable riches
Brought near
Christ is our peace
Reconciled
Access in the Spirit to the Father
No longer strangers and aliens
Fellow citizens with the saints
Members of the household of God
Being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit…
What a contrast…
Thank YOU a for the now…
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
