Veils...

Veils...

When I think of veils, I think of brides...many whose faces are covered with a fine layer of tulle, covering their radiant faces as they come down the aisle toward their groom...their faces are shining through that covering...the groom's face is shining as he watches that special person approach...then the lifting of the veil, that first kiss after their introduction as man and wife...gloriousness as newly marrieds, no more veils for them!!!

I was reading in Corinthians this morning...veils...

Moses, after going up the  mountain, came back with a brightness that the people were afraid, so he veiled his face...but unveiled it when he was in God's presence...his brightness faded...but increased when he was in God's presence...

When Christ died, the veil in the temple was from top to bottom...a thick, heavy veil...torn, letting God's glory shine...
That glory, that light can shine in our lives...he does not hold it back as He sent Jesus to shine in the world, in our lives ...we are not hidden on the other side of the veil...it has opened to us ...
I don't want to be blinded by the god of this age...blinded by my sin, but be enlightened by the light of the gospel given freely by Jesus...

Thank YOU that you opened the curtain for all to see your glory...your invitation to come into your presence...for all who believe, all who turn to the Lord...

2 Corinthians 3:16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

2 Corinthians 4:4-6 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Matthew 27:51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split ....

Exodus 34:29-35 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them. Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai. When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.
