Down to the river to pray...

Down to the river to pray...

For many years, our family ended up with my husband's family pictures...
Amongst them are my mother in law's picture of her baptism...an old grainy, black and white picture of her with others...caption saying this was her baptism, no location, no other names...but it was precious to her as was the event...
She took her boys to church and her husband as well when he would or could go...I know that each were exposed to the gospel during their lives...all are and were "good" men, with only my husband following showing the fruit of her efforts in making sure his family was  in regular attendance, teaching them godly lives, reading the Bible, sharing the good news of salvation, giving, praying with them....and now each of our children have followed in those well worn footsteps with their children...such a blessing and heritage...
We have pictures of my children's baptisms as well, colored snapshots in time ...no pictures exist of either mine or my husband's baptisms, but they are registered in the "book of life" with multitudes of others as well as my side of the family...

We knew where my mother in law was going as we did with my husband...they each had a home prepared for them by the creator of the universe ...but her diligence in following through with her convictions has netted more into the kingdom...thank you, Mary Elizabeth...

Thank YOU, for the examples You have put into our lives...for your salvation ...

Mark 1:5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Acts 2:38-39 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Galatians 3:26-28 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
