The three little pigs....

The three little pigs....

I recently had the delight to partially watch a cute cartoon with my youngest grandson that seemed to be an offshoot of the timeless tale "the three little pigs"or at least it reminded me of that little story we read to our children when they were small...I remember huffing and puffing over and over again, with a high squeaky piggy voice and the low wolf voice as the pigs ran from one house to another to keep safe...

Those pigs used hay, sticks and finally brick to build their houses...with only the brick standing against the big, bad wolf...the first two wanting the easy, fast way to build while the third pig relied on the strength of the stone to keep him safe...with a firm foundation...

It life, sometimes we want the easy way as well, not wanting to take the time or fearing that the wolf is at the door.  But our "structures" are the hay or sticks and not the brick.....

God has provided us with the a "Rock" on which to build...a much sturdier foundation than what the world of hay and sticks, has to offer..and it is freely given by Him...

God's Rock keeps us safe, secure, and has eternal heavenly promises...not like the hay and sticks which are blown away and have no heavenly promises

I want to be like the third pig, building with the right materials, the right Architect, with the right foundation, the right House...and when tested, God glorified....

Thank YOU, even for the Three Little Pigs....their story reminds me upon whom and with what to build a Sturdy Home...You...

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it.
But each one should build with care.
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will  bring it to light.
It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.
If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
