Old westerns…
In my real early years, we lived on ranches, some a bit remote and others near to some civilization…we finally got a tv when I was in 3 rd grade…the genre of the time was westerns and musicals…there may have been more, but, we got what we got just because of where we were living…as my father was a cowboy, working on ranches, we watched a lot of westerns and we watched musicals because my mother was a music teacher at the time…
It seemed like the theme was good versus evil somewhere in the script…the big greedy rancher wanting the poor honest farmer’s land next door…and of course a love story intertwined somehow…the theme really hasn’t changed over the millennia…
So reading about Ahab and Naboth…
Naboth, the farmer next door, and Ahab, the rich greedy king…greed, jealousy, trickery, murder, lies, intrigue….consequences and even some repentance…
There was never anyone like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, urged on by Jezebel his wife.

We still have these kings, these poor farmers, honest people, greedy people…evil versus good…the story goes on until God puts a stop to it…and he promises to do that…
We still have to choose whom we will be, whom we will serve…
Thank YOU…
