Comfort verses….22…Amos 9…
Reading through the prophets in the Word is kind of a downer…there is so much rebellion and judgement for a rebellious people…there are great promises and ultimate victory as well…and there are sometimes when it is nice to read the last chapter for the happy ending…
Amos 9 has that happy ending…comforting…
“In that day“I will restore David’s fallen shelter—I will repair its broken wallsand restore its ruins—and will rebuild it as it used to be, so that they may possess the remnant of Edomite and all the nations that bear my name,”declares the Lord, who will do these things.
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes.
New wine will drip from the mountains-and flow from all the hills, and I will bring my people Israel back from exile.
“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,”says the Lord your God.
Amos.9.11-15
I found out I need another surgery this coming week…after last summer, I thought I had had enough, but no….so looking at the comfort verses again…
A few…the victory…
“To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit” (Jonah 2:6 NIV).
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Num.6.24-26
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for by the Lord upholds his hand. I have been young, and now am old,yet I have not seen the righteous forsakenor his children begging for bread. He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing.
Ps.37.23-26

See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you. Sing to God a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth! (Isaiah 42:9-10 NIV)
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14 NIV).
“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed;be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name;and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.
Isa.54.4-5
Thank YOU….
