Better water…

 Better water….

The other day, I was drinking water out of a purchased water bottle and someone commented, “you know that company fills their bottle with recycled water, don’t you?”…

(I didn’t research it later to find out if that was true of not…)

But in various homes I have lived in , many had a water filtering systems of one kind or another to take care of various types of water, and even now, my refrigerator has a filter system as part of its mechanism….

One of my friends use to work with various countries with their desalination projects…filtering sea water to make it potable drinking water…

When we went to Jericho, we saw the spring of water…when you looked across the plain below to the Dead Sea…the fields were still fruitful from those springs…”Elisha’s Springs”…

We have come a long way from Moses…

Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water.

When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.)

So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.

Exod.15.22-25a

Elisha…

The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.”

“Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “

This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’”

And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

Jesus…

Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

John.2.6-11

James…

Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

Jas.3.11

The best water….

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

John.4.13-14, 26

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.

On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

Rev.22.1-2

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Rev.21.6

We still need that life giving water..that only Jesus gives…

Thank YOU…
