Marriage…

My oldest grandchild is getting married this weekend….what a blessing…

Watching his birth is like yesterday and eons ago  at the same time…what a blessing that was…

Growing up years, traveling various times together, his laughter and love…pictures of each stage of his life…berry picking (and eating), smiles, learning to pan  gold from his grandfather, riding a “coot” with his great grandfather, school pics, mission trips….

And now a new adventure…

What wisdom do we pass down to the next generation for marriage? The whole Word…

 Love the  your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates…Deut.6.-9

 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.Jer.29.11-13

 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.1Cor.13.4-7

 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.Gal.6.2

 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, 1Thess.5.11a
