For whatever reason, some people’s bodies create an excess amount of acid…we taken various medications for this condition either for a short time or a lifetime with varying degrees of success…we work on eating more alkaline foods all the while craving the acidic…

I thought of this while reading chapters in our Women’s Bible Study   Book, “Respectable Sins, by the late Jerry Bridges…the chapters on  judgmentalism and the sins of the tongue…which came after anger and weeds of anger…

Oh, dear…this book hits home so many times…God obviously knew what we would face as we live here for our earthly journey…as He included so many admonishments and words of love to us in His word…He knew our temptations…He knew our adversary and his deceptions, his pull…He knew our nature and planned for our redemption…He gave us His Book to study, learn from, apply…

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Isa.26.3

Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

Jas.3.5-6, 3.9-10

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Eph.4.29,Eph.4.31-32

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Matt.12.34, 36-37

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Ps.19.14

Proverbs 8:8

All the words of my mouth are just;
none of them is crooked or perverse.

Proverbs 12:18

The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

Proverbs17:27

“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5
